Here are the MotorMouthRadio-Approved Car (Culture) Movies (UPDATED 10/10/18):

1. Two-Lane Blacktop (1971) - This is the A#1 car movie on this gearheads list. The 55 Chevy used for road shots is a true ground pounding, noisy & visceral big block powered machine backed by a "Rock Crusher" M22 4-speed and although it's not mentioned in anything I've read, the car probably had the hot rear end of the day for strength, an Olds 3rd member. The main characters are all brooding, dark sorts which does nothing to overshadow the true star of the movie. More... Movie Trailer here.
2. American Graffiti (1973) - This is a story about the last night of fun for a pair of college bound Californians. Although not made to be car-centric, this movie has become one of the go-to movies for people who dig car movies. MMR says, this movie plays like a Disney film next to Two Lane with the saving grace being that the cars Do overshadow the clean cut stars in many instances.
3. Gumball Rally (1976) - A cross country race made by a myriad of entrants in a wide variety of cars, this movie combines a comedic slant with some real at-speed road racing.
4. Bullitt (1968) - Essentially a cop movie where the main character happens to use his personal car in pursuit of the bad guys, Bullitt is known for it's ten minute fifty three second chase scene which made this movie legendary....especially if you're not a fan of Dodge Chargers.
5. Gone in 60 Seconds (1974) - NOT the remake.
6. Vanishing Point (1971) - Nominated by listener Brian from Hey Matco Man. Here we have an ex-cop who's taken a job transporting cars, and through his use of amphetamines to stay awake tries to defy the odds after taking a bet to get a new Dodge Challenger from Colorado to San Fransisco in under 15 hours. Here's where the Dodge fans from Bullitt get their solace, except for that ending part.
7. Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry (1974) - A film with bad guys being chased by the law and they win until they go up in a ball of flame at the end (Oh, spoiler alert).
8. Aloha, Bobby and Rose (1975) - We will get back to you after we see the movie again.
9. Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974) - This is another movie that's not known for its cars but the white Trans Am seen early in the film provides a nice Easter egg for these car guys.
10. Used Cars (1980) -  It has a MILE of cars!
11. Smokey & the Bandit (1977) - Need we say anything...this movie boosted T/A sales by 10 fold.
12. Dazed & Confused (1993) - Not a car movie per se but has some very cool period cars.
13. The Van (1977) - Cult classic that covers the Van craze in California...some nice headlights in this one.
14. Van Nuys Boulevard (1979) - About the Boulevard cruising scene in California back in the day. 
15. The Seven-Ups (1973) - A cop movie but it has a great chase scene filmed on NY highways.
16. The French Connection (1971) - Another cop movie that's famous for its William Friendken car chase scene that's real and totally scary.
17. The Choppers (1961) - An early sociological piece about Hot Rodding punks who strip cars.
18. Hot Rod Girl (1956)  - Another early Hot Rod./punk/J.D. social misfit piece)
19. Hot Rods to Hell (1966) - The movie that started it all for Ray, it has a Gasser Corvette and some hinky acting. We've used this audio clip on the show to bust Chris' balls about his bad brakes.
20. Cannonball (1976) - An answer to the Cannonball Run...and not too shabby either.
21. Cars (2006) Of course, the Pixar classic has to be on the list.
22. Death Proof (2007) - From Quentin Tarantino, Kurt Russell plays a road devil who gets his ass kicked by some nasty female stunt women.
23. Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World (1963) - Not a car movie per se but there are all forms of transportation used throughout the flick.
24. Thunder & Lightning (1977) - Another B-movie with back roads driving and Hot Rods....no one will know it.
25. Fast Company (1979) - Nominated by listener Christian from www.LIRacing.org this flick sits outside the norm of our car movie pattern, but qualifies for it's gritty feel while following a race team sponsored by the oil company "Fast Company". Why we like it; there's in-car footage, real wrenching, explosions, poetic justice, and some gratuitous T&A...who doesn't like those things in their cult movies?
